The Department for Education and Skills (DfES)  A government department dealing with education at all levels and providing skills training for adult learners.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) A government department responsible for delivering support and advice through a modern network of services to people of working age, employers, pensioners, families and children and disabled people.
The Department of Health A government department responsible for improving people's health and well-being. This site gives you the latest information about the Department and its work. It also offers you easy access to a wide range of publications and guidance.
Disability Conciliation Services DCS provides an impartial person to act as mediator to help resolve disputes between disabled people and service providers. This service is voluntary and a disabled person who wishes to take legal action is not obliged to use it. Referral to the DCS
Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee  An independent body that advises the government on the transport needs of disabled people. It also provides advice on the built environment.
The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) An independent body, established by Act of Parliament to eliminate discrimination against disabled people and promote equality and opportunity.

Equality Direct  A site offering practical advice to businesses on a wide range of equality issues.
The Mobility and Inclusion Unit  A unit of the Department for Transport dedicated to achieving policies and provision for public transport users, pedestrians and motorists that are acceptable, accessible, available, affordable and secure.
New Deal for Disabled People A government site giving information about this scheme created to help disabled people into work by closing the gap between the skills employers want and the skills people can offer.
Remploy  Provides a wide range of quality products and services to its customers, and creates good employment opportunities for people with a wide range of disabilities.
Residential Training Colleges  These colleges help unemployed adults with disabilities, particularly those at risk of exclusion from the job market, to secure and sustain employment or self-employment. They are located throughout the country.
The Stationery Office  The Stationery Office publishes on behalf of the UK's Parliaments and assemblies and is the UK's definitive source of official and regulatory information.
The SEN website  A centre for special educational needs offering a range of advice and materials for teachers, parents and others interested in working with children with special education needs.
The Vehicle Inspectorate (VI)  An executive agency within the Department for Transport (DfT), UK Government. Our primary aim is to contribute to the improvement of road safety and environmental standards.
